Purpose of the job

To provide financial controllership and to ensure the Asia finance teams operates efficiently and effectively in line with Group policies and procedures

Main responsibilities

**Financial control, tax and treasury**
- Ensure the financial control environment for all Singapore and Hong Kong entities is appropriate and controls are operating as intended
- Complete and monitor regulatory and capital returns for Singapore and Hong Kong regulators to ensure compliance at all times
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations on completed on a timely basis for all balances in all entities
- Ensure appropriate controls around cash and that any surplus cash is remitted to Group Finance on a timely basis
- Complete monthly cash flow forecasts and submit to Group Finance with explanations on a timely basis
- Ensure cash is collected on a timely basis and ensue the bad debt provision is appropriate
- Ensure compliance with all Group accounting policies and GAAP
- Ensure statutory accounts, tax returns and other filings are completed for all entities on a timely basis
- Ensure all tax and other statutory payments are completed on a timely basis
- Manage local audits and support Group audits as appropriate
**Financial planning and analysis**
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting process for jurisdictions
- Ensure the month end close process is completed on a timely basis with analysis provided to support results
- Ensure appropriate management information is provided to MDs and Group Finance
- Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition (in accordance with IFRS 15) and ensure revenue is accrued or deferred accordingly
- Provide clear explanations of revenue movements and variances to budget by service line
**Financial operations**
- Ensure all client invoices are raised on a timely basis
- Ensure cash is correctly allocated to invoices on a timely basis
- Ensure vendor payments and expenses are made on a timely basis
- Work with HR to ensure payroll is processed correctly on a timely basis
**Leadership and management**
- Act as Resident Manager for regulated Singapore entity
- Act as a director for internal Singapore entities
- Serve as an ‘A’ bank signatory for the internal Singapore and Hong Kong entities
- Management of Finance team in Singapore and Hong Kong
- Develop Finance team within the jurisdictions to align with target operating model
- Support continuous process improvement and global centralisation of finance operational tasks

**Qualifications**:

- Qualified accountant with at least 3 years post-qualification experience

knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience of working in a financial control function, preferrably in a multi-national Group environment
- Experience of providing financial planning and analysis support to internal stakeholders
- Ability to prepare budgets and financial forecasts
- Ability to prepare statutory financial statements, tax computation and GST filing
- Experience of working with external auditors. Previous audit experience preferred
- Knowledge of IFRS preferred
- Good understanding of local employment laws and CPF Act
- Strong IT skills, in particular advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work in a changing environment
