As a Retail Operations Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all the Melvados retails shops, ensuring smooth functioning, exceptional customer service, and optimal sales performance. This role involves managing staff, coordinating inventory, implementing sales strategies, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers.

**Responsibilities**:
**Team Management**:

- Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff.
- Set performance targets and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Schedule shifts and allocate responsibilities effectively.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale.

**Customer Service**:

- Ensure that all customers receive outstanding service by providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Train staff on effective customer service techniques and product knowledge.

**Sales and Revenue**:

- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets and maximize profitability at the store level
- Monitor sales performance and analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, discounts, and special offers.

Encourage upselling and cross-selling to increase average transaction value.

**Inventory Management**:

- Manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations
- Conduct regular stock checks at the store level
- Organize and maintain the store layout to optimize product visibility and accessibility.

**Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure compliance of standard operating procedures across outlets
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the store to create a safe and pleasant shopping environment.

**Marketing and Promotion**:

- Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns to attract customers and drive sales.
- Participate in promotional events and initiatives to increase brand awareness.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective advertising materials

**Requirements**:

- Experience in retail management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and sales analysis.
- Sound understanding of retail operations and industry trends.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Compensation and off in lieu’s will be provided accordingly.
- As our shops are all with freezers, in the event there is a breakdown or alarm at any time (eg. at night, early mornings etc.) you will be required to attend to it immediately. Transport allowance will be given accordingly as well.
