**Role Overview**:
This role is responsible for operating machine tools and equipment to create custom metal and plastics parts with high degree of accuracy. They are also responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment used to produce goods.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
- Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.
- Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Dimension**:

- As Machinist, he/she will assist in running an efficient and effective operation to support the igus sales team.
- He/she will provide expertise in enhancing and processing the parts and supplies to ensure it meets our customers’ needs and requirement.

**Requirements**:

- Professional Certificate / NITEC in Precision machining or related discipline
- Previous working experience as a Machinist for at least 2 years.
- Hands on experience with different manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Knowledge of metal properties and other material
- Working knowledge of machine shop safety protocol & 5S requirements
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
