**Job Scope for a Scaffold Supervisor**

A **Scaffold Supervisor**is responsible for overseeing the erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding on construction, industrial, or maintenance sites. Their primary goal is to ensure safety, compliance with regulations, and efficient workflow. The job scope may vary from time to time but generally includes the following responsibilities:
**1. Supervision and Management**
- **Team Management**: Lead, coordinate, and supervise scaffolders and other workers to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- **Task Allocation**: Assign daily tasks to scaffolders, ensuring each team member understands their duties.
- **Monitoring Progress**: Track and report on project progress, ensuring timely completion of scaffolding activities.

**2. Safety and Compliance**
- **Safety Compliance**: Ensure all scaffolding activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- **Risk Assessment**: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.
- **Inspection & Auditing**: Inspect scaffolding structures to ensure they are safe, secure, and meet industry standards.
- **Permit to Work (PTW)**: Obtain and manage necessary permits for scaffold-related tasks.

**3. Scaffold Erection, Modification, and Dismantling**
- **Planning & Design**: Review drawings, plans, and blueprints to determine scaffold requirements.
- **Erection Oversight**: Supervise the erection and secure placement of scaffolding according to specifications.
- **Modification**: Direct the modification or adjustment of existing scaffolding structures as required.
- **Dismantling**: Oversee the safe and systematic dismantling of scaffolding once it is no longer needed.

**4. Inspection and Certification**
- **Daily Inspections**: Conduct daily checks to ensure scaffold integrity, stability, and compliance with safety standards.
- **Certification**: Issue and maintain scaffold tags and certification to indicate safety status.
- **Defect Management**: Identify, report, and oversee the correction of scaffold defects or issues.

**5. Documentation and Reporting**
- **Daily Reports**: Prepare and submit daily reports on scaffold progress, materials used, and issues encountered.
- **Incident Reports**: Document any accidents, near-misses, or unsafe practices and recommend corrective actions.
- **Material Management**: Track scaffold materials, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and proper use.

**6. Training and Mentorship**
- **On-the-Job Training**: Train scaffolders on proper techniques, best practices, and safety measures.
- **Knowledge Sharing**: Provide guidance on new equipment, materials, or changes to regulatory requirements.

**7. Communication and Coordination**
- **Client Liaison**: Act as a point of contact between site management, clients, and subcontractors.
- **Internal Communication**: Coordinate with site managers, safety officers, and other supervisors to ensure smooth workflows.
- **Problem-Solving**: Address issues that arise on-site, such as delays, design changes, or safety concerns.

**Key Skills & Requirements**
- **Certifications**: Valid Scaffold Supervisor Certificate and relevant Work-at-Height (WAH) certification.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in scaffolding supervision, preferably in construction or heavy industry.
- **Technical Knowledge**: Understanding of scaffolding design, load capacities, and construction principles.
- **Soft Skills**: Leadership, problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication.
