Assistant National Coach

The Assistant National Coach will work under the direction of the National Head Coach (Canoe Sprint - Kayak) and the High Performance Committees to assist with planning, coaching and monitoring of the National Canoe Sprint - Kayak Team.
1. Coaching
a. Responsible for all members of the National Squad (Kayak).
b. Responsible to plan, supervise, organise training programmes for athletes in the National Squad.
c. Work with Singapore Sports Institute and National Youth Sports Institute to perform various tests and make recommendations accordingly.
d. Plan and recommend programmes and competitions with the SCF Coaches’ (Canoe Sprint) Committee leading to major international competitions.
2. Development
a. Assist in conducting courses/workshops for local coaching and athletes.
b. Identify potential athletes to join the National Squad.
c. Determine, plan, recommend and organise training programmes for the National Squad.
3. Reporting
a. Provide quarterly reports to the Executive Committee on progress of the National Squad Training.
b. Provide report on all overseas trips to the Executive Committee.
Educational background and professional knowledge Requirements
Relevant international or national coaching certifications
Previous experience competing at or coaching at World Championships, Junior World Championships, and/or World Cups
Professional Skill and Other Requirements
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate personal integrity, honesty, respect, and show an ability to handle pressure and stress in an appropriate manner
- Highly motivated and passionate about the sport
- Willingness to assist the team and the Federation as needed and when required
- Must be able to form effective working relationships with the National Head Coaches, athletes, the Federation and other stakeholders e.g. SportSG and parents
- Possess class of Pleasure craft driving licence (PPCDL) and First Aid Course
