GDMC is a venture-backed, fast-paced and Singapore-HQ'ed start-up and we are looking for individuals passionate in the cutting-edge of biotechnology and next generation therapeutics to join us on this mission As one of our Process Development Scientist (Microbial) you will be involved with developing and optimising new manufacturing processes, working in close collaboration with partner-clients, and creating highly robust upstream microbial culture methods to make economical genetic medicines. If you'd like to play a part in bringing the next life-saving innovations to market, we want you **Responsibilities** - Design and troubleshoot experiments for testing various unit operations in process development in accordance with clients need and company's overall strategic goals. - Develop and drive robust upstream and downstream workflows for effective pDNA production. - Analyze internally or externally generated experimental data using standard process development tools. - Work with microbial cultures ranging from shake flask to 200L operations and optimize said operations for maximum yield. - Design and test process control strategies. - Interact with the client partner on a daily or weekly basis to analyze their existing process for transferability and scalability. **Requirements**: - PhD in Bioprocessing, biochemical engineering, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering or equivalent. - 3-5 years of work experience within bioprocessing, academic or commercial scale process development. - Demonstrable proficiency designing and troubleshooting upstream process experiments. - Demonstrable proficiency with wave, stir tank, perfusion bioreactor systems. - Familiarity with developing upscaling processes for pDNA and protein expression. **Desired Qualifications** - Experience in performing tech transfer processes. - Comprehensive understanding of cGMP requirements for biomanufacturing or pharmaceutical industries. - Familiarity in working with HEK293T in single use bioreactor systems is advantages.
