**General responsibilities**
- Act as a support to the Technical Department of the Company.
- Assist a group of Superintendents in purchasing spare parts, stores and other requirements of the vessel and initiate forwarding of the material to the vessels.

**Special Responsibilities**

Includes but are not limited to:

- In co-operation with the General Manager / Technical Manager / Purchase Manager negotiate prices, terms and rebates with suppliers.
- Initiate quotations on spare parts, stores etc. as agreed with Technical Managers and / or Superintendents.
- Ensuring that vessels and port agents are notified of deliveries en route.
- Keep information in the purchasing system, updated.
- Arrange delivery of urgent orders to the vessels, according to purchasing / spare part procedure.
- Update delivery dates, in the purchasing system, including confirmation numbers from order confirmation to reflect actually promised delivery dates from suppliers.
- Control that delivery times are met in the purchasing system.
- Check validity of order estimates on a regular basis together with Superintendents.
- Update the purchasing system for outstanding orders twice a year in co-ordination with the Shipboard Management.
- Keep Shipboard Management informed about delivery times for Orders.
- Assist in improving the Safety & Quality Culture within the Company.
