Singapore KFW IPEX-BANK ASIA LTD. Full time

KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH, Frankfurt, (“IPEX”) is the subsidiary of Germany’s state-owned KfW Bankengruppe in charge of supporting the European export industry. With a loan portfolio of approx. EUR 70 billion we provide financing to European exporters and their international clients’ worldwide, supporting projects that contribute to leapfrog to cleaner, more resilient and climate friendly investments.

IPEX maintains a subsidiary in Singapore, operating under a Merchant Bank License by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”). The subsidiary’s mandate is to provide assistance to IPEX in the context of the bank’s mandate to support the German and European economies, especially exporters and project sponsors, in their global activities. It will originate commercial project finance and export finance loan products for IPEX in the Asia-Pacific (“APAC”) region.

IPEX is one of the leading European banks in the growing Energy sector. The clients covered by our teams entail sponsors, project developers, utilities and suppliers. We finance sustainable investments worldwide in the different energy sectors, incl a.o. power generation, power storage, water&waste and hydrogen.

In order to further develop its client network and support growth ambitions in Asia, the global Energy team is extending its activities in the region. We plan to add further talent to a well-functioning team already working on different sectors and are looking for an experienced structurer and originator with energy background,
- Structuring of new business: Development of a suitable transaction structure for the customer and the bank. The business and risk strategy of KfW IPEX-Bank must be taken into account in the structuring process;
- Preparation of loan templates and term sheets;
- Conducting contract negotiations in coordination with the Legal department and with appropriate involvement of portfolio management;
- relationship management with clients with whom IPEX already has a well-developed business relationship - in these cases, the primary contact person for the clients to be serviced in all aspects (both business-specific and general);
- Preparation and provision of presentations, offers, etc. for the purpose of IPEX’s participation in financing rounds;
- Based on a deal team approach, close constructive cooperation with colleagues from Relationship and Portfolio Management (Front Office) as well as with all other internal interfaces (e.g. Risk, Legal, KYC unit, Syndication, Structuring Advisory);
- Regular exchange within the department and with all relevant interfaces with regard to relevant risk, market and product developments;
- Involvement in the ongoing development of sector and regional expertise.

We look for:

- Master’s degree in Business/ Finance/ Economics or other related field with a postgraduate qualification;
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in banking or financial sector with a strong focus on project finance;
- Extensive Energy sector know-how;
- Front officer expertise (structuring and origination skills) with experience in South East Asia and Australia;
- Well -pronounced client relationship skills;
- Ability to lead discussions with C-level counterparts and highly ranked government representatives;
- High degree of proactivity;
- Ability to work in a team of originators - this team being spread over different regions, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - willingness to work in an agile team set up;
- Intercultural acumen;
- Willingness to travel frequently
