AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.

The Senior Data Solutions Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the design and implementation of our SEA-LION data platform, a strategic initiative to enhance our data capabilities. This role acts as a crucial link between internal AI Products teams and external users, and integral to our data strategy and governance.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Primary**:

- Lead the development of the SEA-LION Data Platform from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and execute data management strategies that align with the SEA-LION platform's key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Create and maintain comprehensive data documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Oversee data governance policies to ensure data quality and security Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

**Strategic**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand user requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Establish and track KPIs and metrics to measure and enhance data management effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry developments in data infrastructure and management, crafting strategic roadmaps for SEA-LION platform improvements. Develop and manage data management budgets and resource allocation plans to optimize data utilization.

**Technical**:

- Oversee design, implementation, and documentation of the SEA-LION Data Platform, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless data transfers across different systems/platforms
- Establish data quality frameworks and monitoring systems to maintain high data standards.
- Establish necessary data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive information. Guide the selection and implementation of advanced data management and storage tools (e.g. WEKA, VAST)

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in data management and architecture.
- Strong knowledge of database technologies, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Expertise in data governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with a track record of mentoring technical teams.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Advanced skills in database management and SQL programming. Demonstrated ability in technical leadership and mentoring.
