Amazon is looking for an experienced Sr. Export Compliance Manager who will be responsible for providing global trade compliance leadership. In this critical role, you will work with various teams to develop, implement, and integrate a Trade Compliance & Controls Program.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
In this role, you will be responsible for working with a team of highly qualified trade compliance professionals across a number of geographies. You will work closely with the Sr. Trade Compliance Managers, the Director, Global Trade, and the Product Compliance organizations to drive strategies that ensure ongoing and compliance, as well as a strategy for anticipating growth and strategic requirements for Amazon products and services globally. You will develop, implement, and communicate best practices and processes for ensuring trade compliance across Amazon hardware, software, technology, services, and people, and will ensure rhythms of control to ensure timely and consistent review and timely approvals for compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic expertise on export control regulations and advise internal stakeholders on compliance mechanisms
- Develop trade compliance policies and perform risk assessment to support new program/business lane launches as applicable to our selections, hardware, software, services, technologies
- Build and manage Amazon’s Export Compliance program, including developing processes and procedures
- Establish and maintain guidelines and best practices to mitigate trade compliance risks
- Oversee filings to government or regulatory bodies, in alignment with our Amazon Legal colleagues
- Stay current on changes to regulatory requirements and best practices
- Design metrics and create visibility to stakeholders and leadership
- Own communications to stakeholder teams and executive leadership
- Manage regulator contacts with compliance leadership, legal and other internal stakeholders
- Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and implement trade compliance policies, processes in partnership with different stakeholder group; facilitate adherence to such policies and processes with the least possible friction;
- Work with stakeholders to identify needs and provide solutions to support company's growth;
- Support on providing targeted training on specific trade compliance topics for stakeholders;
- Collaborate with Amazon’s technology teams to develop creative and best-in-class solutions;
- Leverage data and metrics to track and improve performance of compliance at Amazon;
- Establish and manage positive business relations with key stakeholders and business teams;
- Master’s Degree is a plus, but not required - Experience engaging with regulators, and representing complex requirements for import and/or export activities preferred - Familiarity with other international import/export regulations - Knowledge and user of SQL, Tableau etc. - Ability to prioritize activities with changing timelines - Ambitious self-starter who can work objectively with integrity and high degree of legal awareness.
