Assistant Merchandiser

The Assistant Merchandiser provides assistance relating to the implementation of the merchandising plans and product category strategies.

The role is also responsible for the coordination of product sourcing activities and the collation of information for product development initiatives in accordance to allocated budgets.

The person works in a dynamic environment where he/she regularly tracks relevant current and future consumer behaviours and trends.

He/she is an energetic, organised and collaborative individual who is able to operate well in a team-based environment under pressure.

The job responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following critical work functions & key tasks:
- 1. Drive category management and product assortments
- a. Collate information pertaining to product sales and stock turnover rates.
- b. Collate customers' and staff’s feedback on product categories.
- c. Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock.
- d. Implement product category's brand product ranges and assortment plans, pricing, and promotional plans.
- e. Collaborate with retail teams on distribution and consolidation of stocks. Plan necessary actions to optimise inventory efficiency.

2. Drive product sourcing
- Consolidate information for the department to forecast merchandise demand, planning, buying and sell-through.
- Contribute inputs for product’s performance, cost and sourcing.
- Monitor and ensure timely deliveries.

3. Manage budget
- Monitor costs and adhere to budget allocation and Open-to-Buy (OTB).
- Administer purchase orders and follow-up with payment and shipment processes.
- Engage in cost-saving efforts.

4. Manage partner relationships (where necessary)
- Coordinate with partners and maintain business partnerships.
- Collate and provide feedback on quality and effectiveness of partnership.
- Organise relevant information for negotiations with partners.

5. Manage shopper marketing activities.
- Implement shopper promotional plans.
- Track data on campaign effectiveness for analysis.
- Support activities to create awareness and triggers in the shopping cycle for all marketing activities.

6. Champion innovation or productivity improvements
- Contribute potential ideas that may help to innovation or productivity improvements.
- Provide proactive support to all teams.

7. Merchandising & Logistics support tasks
- Assist in producing/inputs for merchandising reports e.g., Purchases Summary, Sales, Inventory, etc.
- Update files on Planned Purchases, OTB, etc.
- Assist in creating purchase orders.
- Assist in requisition of samples & tasting stocks for staff trainings and events.
- Arrange bond stocks for Harper and weekly bond stocks delivery for all retail stores.
- Liaise and book with 3rd party transportation company for bond or warehouse stocks to retail stores.
- Reserve warehouse’s bond stocks for required retail stores.
- Handle and/or perform warehouses (bonded and own) cycle count & reconciliation.
- Back-up Logistics colleague on some tasks and cover other teammate when one is away from office.

8. E-commerce
- Implement & communicate with marketing & operations teams on e-commerce activities.
- Monitor sales, promotions, marketing & social media programmes and/or activities over digital platforms.
- Co-ordinate with cross-functional teams on execution of brand, marketing and e-commerce activities.

**Salary**: $2,500.00 - $3,500.00 per month
