The School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE), Nanyang Technology University (NTU, PI: Asst Prof. Zhao Wenting) is seeking to recruit a Research Fellow for collaborative work with the Yale University devoted to studies of nanoscale membrane reorganization in immune cells using nanofabricated chips and high-resolution imaging. The project aims to elucidate mechanisms of immune cell activation and regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist research project under the direction of Principal Investigator, and present significant progress towards the deliverables
- Lead nanofabrication and develop related sub-projects, as well as coordinate collaboration works
- Participate in writing scientific publications and grants. Review and current of literatures
- Collaborate with other team members, and supervise junior members
- Assist in general operation of laboratory including ordering supplies and maintenance
- Train new laboratory personnel, students, and short-term visiting scientists
- Comply with all laboratory safety standards and guidelines

Job Requirements:

- A Ph.D in biomedical engineering, material science, electrical engineering, or related disciplines. Research backgrounds in nanofabrication and clean-room techniques are highly preferred
- Recent Ph.D graduates within 3 year experience
- Have more than 2 first-authored papers in reputable journals
- Experience in lithography-based nano-/micro-fabrication and dry etching related techniques
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and imaging is desired. Technical knowledge with immunostaining, cell transfection, and confocal microscopy is preferred
- Experience in electron-beam lithography, soft-lithography, and microfluidics is highly preferred
- Highly motivated and dedicated to the development of the project
- Excellent laboratory, planning, and leadership skills
- Ability to integrate well into a team of researchers with different backgrounds, and the ability to learn new techniques
