Safety officer facilitates compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines and provide advice on measures to minimize hazards and dangerous situations. To establish a safe workplace in accordance to legal standards and pay close attention to health and safety.

**Job Description**:

- Implementation of tasks assigned by Project Manager.
- Mainly working at all PSA Terminal.
- Develop OHS policies and program for port machinery service site.
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics.
- Conduct risk assessment and enforcing preventive measures.
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to Singapore law.
- Initiate and organize OH&S training of employees and executives.
- Inspect premises and work activities of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity.
- Oversee safety of teams and contractors when performing installation, maintenance and all other works of engineering.
- Monitor and assess hazardous or unsafe practices and conditions to develop measures and continuously improve workplace safety.
- Record and investigate incident to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
- Prepare reports on unsafe incidents / occurrences and provide statistical information to senior management.
- Participate in meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work plan.
- Prepare clients’ required safety documents (eg. Risk Assessment, Safe Work Procedures, Safety report etc.).
- Ensure work area is prepared in accordance with work requirement and site procedures.
- Assess Permit to Work for daily activities and high risk activities (eg. Work at height, Lifting, Confined Space, Hot Work).
- Able to perform work on holiday or weekend if there is project shipment arrival.
- Willing to travel to another location or project depending on operational needs where your services are required.
- Adhoc task assigned by GM/ DGM/ PM.

**Requirements**:

- 3 years of experience as safety officer.
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
- In depth knowledge on local legislation and procedures.
- Familiar with conducting data analysis and reporting statistic.
- Proficient in MS office.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics with Chinese clients and PSA port marine officers.
- WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level C).
- A Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- Certified in Manage Work at Height.
- Certified Confined Space Assessor.
- Certified Lifting Supervisor.
- Certified Hot Work Safety Assessor.
- Port and marine working experiences.
- Work at height and outdoor working environment.
