**Job Summary**:
The Crawler Crane Operator is responsible for operating a crawler-mounted crane to lift, move, position, and place machinery, equipment, and other large objects at construction or industrial sites. This role demands a high level of attention to safety protocols, mechanical knowledge, and precision in maneuvering heavy loads in various environments.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate crawler crane equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to manufacturer’s instructions and job site requirements.
- Read and interpret lift plans, blueprints, and load charts to determine the proper setup and operation techniques.
- Inspect cranes daily for wear and defects; report and document any mechanical issues or needed repairs.
- Safely rig and signal loads in coordination with riggers, signalers, and ground crew.
- Set up cranes on job sites, including the placement of mats, outriggers, and counterweights.
- Conduct pre-operation and post-operation checks, maintaining accurate records and logs of operations and maintenance.
- Ensure all loads are lifted and placed in accordance with weight capacity and stability requirements.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to plan lifting operations and sequencing.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including those involving fall protection, confined space entry, and heavy equipment operation.
- Respond to emergency situations with professionalism and speed, ensuring the safety of all personnel and property.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and regular training as required.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification from a recognized crane operator training program (e.g., NCCCO - National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators or local equivalent).
- Valid heavy equipment operator license as required by local or national regulations.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience operating crawler cranes in construction or industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of load charts, crane dynamics, rigging practices, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ASME B30.5).
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions including climbing, lifting, and exposure to outdoor elements.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

**Working Conditions**:

- Outdoor job sites in varying weather conditions.
- May involve extended periods of sitting in crane cab.
- Possible overtime and weekend work depending on project deadlines.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times.
