**The Role**
Reporting to the Director, Projects & Modelling, this role will be mainly involved in Pacific Life Re’s Actuarial projects e.g. USGAAP Long Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) and other ad-hoc divisional projects. You will also support the treaty implementation process, which involves understanding the commercial nature of the treaties, specifying data requirements, validation of data as well as building financial projection of such treaties into actuarial systems under different reporting bases.

1. Responsible for the project work for USGAAP Long Duration Target Improvements (LDTI)
- Support Division on project’s methodology papers / business requirement / gap analysis, communicating Asia Business unit requirements, provide regular project updates, raise issues (if foreseen) and ensure timely coordination with project teams for proper resolution.
- Ensure adherence to overall project timeline and update line manager/ project steer co / project team members in case of deviation
- Ensure Asia Business unit’s reporting obligations are in line with the LDTI accounting standards
- Prepare and/or review test scripts, reconciliations and sign-off for the implementation
- Produce Asia Business units’ comparative financial statements that are compliant with LDTI accounting standards
- Implement the new reporting standard into the Valuation/Business Plan models and quarterly reporting processes
- Coordination of go-live activities and facilitate project closure
- Support the engagement with local auditors in relation to LDTI implementation enquiries
- Participate and support in ad hoc tasks

2. Support the treaty implementation process as and when required

**Qualifications & Experience**
Essential
- Qualified actuary with 5 to 7 years’ experience in life insurance or life reinsurance
- Strong understanding of actuarial valuation principles and processes, knowledge and experience of actuarial control cycle is a plus
- Proficient in MS-Excel and one actuarial software
- Detail oriented with the ability to work to timelines
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills

Desirable Experience
- Experience in end-to-end implementation of actuarial projects such as IFRS17 or RBC2
- Demonstrable knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS17, MAS or Solvency II regulations
- Direct or indirect Asian market experience and knowledge: culture, legislation, regulations and commercial practices
- Proficiency in one Asian language is a plus
