**Job Scope and Key Responsibilities**
- Handling, negotiating and administration of cargo claims related to the Pacific trades. This will include receiving, collating and reviewing information and documentation relating to incidents causing damage that have occurred in the course of G2 Ocean’s operation as a marine cargo carrier. The job holder will also be responsible for settlement of claims and recovery from insurers.
- Handling of FD&D, Charterers Liability claims that may arise from time to time in relation to the Pacific trades.
- Responsibility for the management of the department’s claims system and the production of regular monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc statistical reports and analysis for the Pacific trades. This will mainly involve providing information on claims to Insurance & Claims Director, Operations, Chartering and overseas offices and ensuring that all department members have the assistance necessary to use the system fully.
- Responsible for the monitoring and the management of all stevedore injury claims.
- Cooperating with the Insurance, Legal & Claims team in other offices ensuring claims are handled efficiently, file records are maintained and databases updated. This will include updating insurers of vessels which come on and off charter and advising them of any claims matters plus recovery from insurers of claims settlements when exceeding deductibles.
- Supervision of the Claims Handler in Manila, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, file records are maintained and databases updated. - Provide maritime legal advice and service to the Pacific organization, and legal advice on various shipping contracts as required.
- Responsible for the budgeting process of all insurances and claims for the Pacific trades.
- Cooperate closely with the Claims Handler in Manila, the Legal & Claims Manager Atlantic and the Insurance & Claims Director to ensure a highly professional, cost-efficient and aligned handling of claims and legal advice within the G2 Ocean Group.
- Liaise with General Counsel and Director ESG on legal matters.
- Be the contact person for the legal entities sorting under the Pacific Transactional Centre if any external legal services are required.

**Role Requirement**
- Degree in Maritime Law or related qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of cargo and injury claims handling experience.
- Self-starter with strong communication skills
- Team-oriented and strong stakeholders management skill
- Effective negotiator
