Director, Regulatory & Trading Compliance

This position is vital for supply & trading excellence to our internal and external counterparties. This position is needed to meet the industry standards to which our customers/suppliers are accustomed.

Positive impacts will enable traders to capture a valuable market opportunity and promote positive P&L impacts due to keeping within regulatory frameworks. Negative impacts can be severe and cause a potential of substantial loss of profit and business as well as fines from regulatory bodies.
- Execute global line compliance for all market compliance requirements, regulation and the associated reporting
- Liaising with Compliance Officer in the UK and Compliance and Supply & Trading Legal support in the U.S. to ensure global coverage
- Primary contact for exchanges and pricing services in both the physical OTC and financial markets
- Partner with heads of Supply & Trading, Middle Office, Legal and Senior Management
- Daily tasks include:

- Establishing compliance policy & procedure in conjunction with Legal Counsel
- Application and advice to Front Office on the trading floor for daily transaction activity
- Monitor and maintain reporting on all compliance requirements for exchanges and other markets
- Reviewing desk transaction activity for compliance with key requirements and procedures
- Dealing with and responding to enquiries from exchanges and pricing services
- Documenting and reporting compliance breaches
- Identify and mitigate compliance risks and work with all levels of the Company to establish effective compliance controls within the areas of responsibility.
- Serve as primary point of contact in North America for Supply & Trading, Operations, Legal, and other internal stakeholders for compliance matters.
- Provide proactive advice and participate in new business initiatives to ensure Company-wide compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and foreign laws.
- Coordinate administration of the Company’s global compliance program with counterpart in Europe.
- Liaise with corporate Compliance team on diligence initiatives (AML, sanctions, etc.)
- Develop, organize, and deliver compliance training and communications related to the Company’s corporate policies and applicable laws.
- Oversee and/or support internal and external investigations and reviews of compliance matters.
- Take ownership of existing tools used for compliance monitoring and reporting and work with IT to further enhance our surveillance capabilities.
