Legal Counsel and Regulatory Compliance Specialist

As **Legal Counsel and Regulatory Compliance Specialist**, you'd be able to work on and solve many interesting challenges which we are facing, learn new ways of working, and help build delightful high-quality products for our customers.

You will be responsible for supporting the Chief Legal Officer and the Chief Compliance Officer, in managing Legal, Regulatory Compliance (RC) and Conduct risks, aligning to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Legal, RC and Conduct frameworks, policies and procedures for Trust. The role is a 50:50 split across the Legal and Compliance teams.

**The Role Responsibility**:

- Provide advice and training on legal/regulatory requirements, policies and standards of professional conduct.
- Support the design and end-to-end implementation of appropriate Legal, RC and Conduct frameworks, policies and procedures for identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, mitigating and reporting Legal, RC and Conduct risks, including data conduct, for digital-led banking in Singapore, and ensure effective management of issues and risks in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, and compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
- Perform second line of defence role for managing Legal, RC and Conduct risks, and escalate issues, as appropriate.
- Keep abreast of legal/regulatory developments, manage legal/regulatory consultations and support legislative/regulatory change implementation.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice, and drafting to the business with a focus on our retail banking products, including credit cards, lending and savings account.
- Reviewing and advising on legal and regulatory matters for customer journeys, new products and features, customer communications and marketing materials.
- Find ways to improve processes and customer experiences. Create simple/easy solutions that will make customers and colleagues smile.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice on customer complaints and disputes.

- 3 years of financial sector experience, with 2 years in Legal and/or RC second line of defence roles.
- Possess intermediate level of proficiency in legal/compliance advisory on regulations, policies and standards, including data conduct.
- Legal qualification in Singapore/called to Singapore bar/Singapore law degree
- Able to take ownership, solve problems under pressure, innovate and achieve results sustainably.
- Possess strong stakeholder management skills. Able to collaborate and communicate effectively.
- Willing to try new things/solutions.

**Good to have (Optional)**:

- Relevant ICA certification.
- Relevant Personal Data Protection certification.
