**What the role is**
- Head (Cloud Governance) will manage and lead a team of Cloud Architects to establish Cloud Centre of Excellence with the objective to ensure the organisation use of cloud services is aligned with business goals, compliance requirements and best practices for security, cloud-native design and cost management within the constraint of Government policy for the commercial cloud environment.

**What you will be working on**
- The job holder is responsible for the following:

- Set objectives, provide coaching and mentoring, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Establish and ensure best practices for security by design, cost management and well-architected framework.
- Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Design and develop the cloud platform architecture. This includes selecting the right cloud technologies, defining the architecture of the cloud environment, and designing scalable and secure cloud services.
- Manage the cloud infrastructure, which includes configuring cloud services and deploying cloud products.
- Ensure solutions are available, scalable and reliable.
- Work with designated facilities management to ensure handover activities of engineering products and project infrastructure onboarding is done professionally.
- Ensure that continuous integration and deployment best practices are in place.
- Setup and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Ensure that the project cloud environments are secure. This includes designing security policies, setting up firewalls, and implementing access control measures.
- Optimize cloud costs, including selecting the right pricing models, optimizing resource allocation, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential for adoption in the organization. This includes researching new cloud services and features, as well as experimenting with new tools and processes to improve the cloud platform.

**What we are looking for**
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in platform engineering or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in an architect role.
- Strong technical knowledge of platform architecture, design, and implementation.
- Experience managing a team of platform engineers.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, containers, and microservices.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Experience with implementing Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Knowledge of Application Security policies and practices.
- Knowledge of security, privacy, and data protection policies and regulations.

All new appointees will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
