The National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) has an opportunity for an individual holding a BSc to aid in our investigations into neurological disease using cutting edge analysis of MRI data

The project will involve processing functional and diffusion MRI to extract meaningful measures of brain connectivity; designing and implementing AIs to diagnose and measure Parkinson’s disease; and learning how AI can be applied effectively in clinical research and healthcare settings.

Your role will also be to provide research support services to the investigators in the conduct and implementation of clinical research studies at the National Neuroscience Institute (TTSH campus), in adherence to Singapore Guideline for Good Clinical Practice (SGGCP) and protocol requirements. For this project, this will involve:

- Opportunities to learn cutting-edge techniques for analysis of brain MRI images and AI techniques.
- Opportunities to contribute toward leading AI and neuroscience research.
- Working at NNI’s Research Department at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Novena.
- Assisting in all administrative requirements including submission process to IRB and/or regulatory authority.
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders at NNI, Singapore General Hospital and NUS to ensure all study-related activities are carried out efficiently.

You will also participate in a second research study in NNI, in the field of medical device innovation. It is an ongoing project that aim to invent a novel medical device that regulate the output of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from the brain, for patients who has a condition called hydrocephalus, characterised by accumulation of excessive CSF in the brain. Your role in this project will involve
- Coordinating with engineers from the prototyping and design company
- Conduct lab tests
- Conduct a small clinical trial (N=5) at the end of the study

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, medical physics or related STEM fields.
- Added advantages: experience and/or keen interest in AI/machine learning, computer programming, MRI neuroimaging analysis, statistics, data science or prior clinical research.
