We seek a Data Analyst to support our high-frequency trading activities and quantitative research. At Grasshopper, we recognise that effective research and trading strategies are built upon solid foundations in data collection, storage, and service. Grasshopper trades at several exchanges globally, and we are looking for a data analyst interested in working with terabytes of data to join our team.

As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with both the trading and technology sides. You will help the trading teams with suggestions on how to effectively analyse large data sets, optimise current processes and help implement reports/dashboards. You will also work closely alongside various business units to help on various BI requirements and projects.

In this role you will also be able to grow into more of a data engineering role, build data pipelines that efficiently and reliably process and transform data captured across various systems as well as to design and implement storage solutions for enabling users to generate valuable signals and insights. You’ll have a chance to work with Google Cloud technologies, and possibly introduce a new solution yourself if you can make a case for it.

**Responsibilities**:

- Help users to collect and interpret data
- Help with improving the data quality and work together with the data engineers to get solutions implemented
- Identify patterns and trends in data sets.
- Work closely with traders and researchers to consume and analyze data faster and more efficiently.
- Help with monitoring of the health of the data platform

**Skills and Knowledge Required**:

- Thinks and learns quickly, solves problems, and can work without supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with data warehouse, BI platforms and SQL.
- Familiarity with software development practices.
- Works well in a team.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with financial data
- Knowledge of SQL, Python
- Knowledge of BI tools like Looker, Tableau
