Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability

As a result of our growing operations in the APAC region, we're now seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering team in Singapore.

You'll be part of an impactful team responsible for building partnerships and ensuring availability of our highly sophisticated set of services that form a core part of our best-in-class SaaS product. Your experience with full stack cloud-native development and distributed systems will help this team partner with Product and Service Engineering teams to improve the overall reliability and performance of our systems and services. We enjoy working with Engineers who possess a strong growth-mindset, are enthusiastic at problem solving and are able to demonstrate leadership skills. Our integrations process around 10 million events per day, so you will be challenged by the global scale and complexity of these systems.

**What the stack looks like**:

- Our compute runs mostly on Kubernetes
- Our favorite databases are MySQL, and everything important lives on AWS
- Our code is written in Ruby, Go, Java and Python

**What you get to do every day**:

- You’ll get the chance to work on the Zendesk platform, various Zendesk services and improve the reliability posture of the organisation.
- Working as a member of a team, you will collaborate with other Engineers in various teams to build tools that support their Observability requirements.
- Work on incidents, learn from them and ensure the takeaways are shared across the organisation.
- Design, develop, and evolve the Chaos Engineering practice at Zendesk
- Analyze the shortcomings of existing systems and propose alternatives

**What you'll bring to the role**:

- Experience in one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Ruby, Java, Go
- A solid understanding of distributed systems and how to design them
- Experience to AWS, cloud-native software design and Kubernetes
- Delight from helping others learn and improve through pairing, code review, tech talks etc.
- The ability to lead, partner, and collaborate cross-functionally across the engineering organization
- Experience using high scale telemetry systems is a plus
