**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage all assigned vessels on day to day Marine functions in close cooperation with the Fleet and commercial team.
- Responsible for delivering on safety, security and environmental performance on assigned vessels.
- Fulfil responsibilities of CSO for assigned vessels.
- Ensure all assigned vessels are acceptable for business at all times barring company policy limitations.
- Ensure readiness of assigned ships for SIRE and customer inspections as per VIQ & TMSA.
- Ensure all assigned ships comply with all relevant industry and statutory requirements, ensure effective close out of all non-conformances, observations and deficiencies resulting from internal or external inspections/audits on assigned vessels.
- Monitor ships as required through audits, inspections or routine visits as needed.
- Monitor, analyse, manage and minimize loss due to mis-operation, accidents and incidents.
- Conduct incident investigation for root cause analysis of incidents and accidents, aiming to promote the learning across organization.
- Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis as required by the manager, closing out deficiencies, making recommendations and putting in place preventive measures.
- Partner with the procurement team to ensure optimal marine equipment decisions and contracts, and with fleet team to assess quality of shipyards prior contracting.
- Assess the operational risks from a marine/navigational perspective for assigned vessels.
- Responsible for briefing and debriefing crew of assigned vessels on Marine matters.
- Maintain industry documents and plans necessary to operate vessels.
- Actively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Education in maritime industry or similar.
- Minimum 10 years’ sea experience.
- 2 years’ experience as tanker Master preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in maritime related industry as applicable Fluent in English communication, orally and in writing.
