The Role

Proofpoint is looking for a Backend Software Engineer Intern for the Cloud Security Department. It is focusing on developing data governance software based on artificial intelligence to make sure all the data within the organization is safe. You will be part of a multi-cultural team in a dynamic environment.

As a Backend Software Engineer Intern, you will
- Be involved in adding the new features to the stack.
- Participate in all team scrum process, e,g: sprint planning, daily standup, spring retrospective, etc.
- Work closely with the other engineers and product team members in delivering high quality results.

Job Requirements
- Python 3 with previous experience in school or personal projects
- Knowledge of Django, Flask or any other MVC framework and its best practices
- Knowledge in using databases (PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Knowledge on APIs (REST)
- Knowledge of messages queues, microservices and Docker is a plus
- Good team spirit and team player
- Strong problem-solving capabilities

You are able and interested in working full time (maximum 40 hours/week) remotely until it is safe to work in office. You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and maintaining an above average GPA. This internship is scheduled to run for 11 weeks.
