**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Leadership & Team Development**:

- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Provide technical leadership by setting best practices for backend development, architecture, and software design.
- Oversee the professional development of team members, providing guidance on career progression, technical skills, and leadership development.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and cross-functional departments (e.g., Product, Data Science, DevOps) to ensure cohesive development and delivery.
- **Architect & Build Scalable Backend Systems**:

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-performance backend systems that power the DRT platform and Logistics solutions.
- Ensure backend systems can scale efficiently to meet the growing demand for both public transport operators and fleet management in diverse regions.
- Oversee the integration of machine learning and advanced algorithms into the backend to drive optimization of transport operations and route planning.
- **Innovation & Continuous Improvement**:

- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the backend team to stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Lead initiatives to improve system reliability, performance, and security, implementing best practices for cloud-based infrastructure.
- Champion and drive the adoption of cutting-edge tools and technologies, evaluating and implementing those that can enhance the platform’s capabilities.
- **Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work**:

- Partner with the Product, Data, and Frontend teams to understand customer needs and technical requirements, translating them into effective backend solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the operations and customer support teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance existing features, and improve the user experience.
- Contribute to product roadmaps, aligning backend architecture with the company’s strategic goals and customer needs.
- **Ensure Quality & Compliance**:

- Lead code reviews, establish rigorous testing practices, and ensure high-quality code through automated testing frameworks.
- Ensure backend systems are designed with a strong focus on security, performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

**Key Qualifications**:

- **Experience & Technical Skills**:

- 7+ years of experience in backend software development, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong expertise in backend technologies such as Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with data streaming technologies, message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and distributed systems.
- Experience with building and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and secure backend systems.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of algorithms and AI-driven optimization techniques is a plus, especially in the context of logistics or transportation systems.

- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams of engineers, fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment.
