**Roles & Responsibility
The Lead QA Engineer ensures the successful deployment of software/product solutions, leading to consumer satisfaction and the subsequent success of the business. This role develops and executes the functionality, regression, and testing solutions as well as the development of test plans for both existent and new software/products. Along with other members of the engineering team this role acts as the glue that holds the engineering and product development teams together, collaboratively working together throughout the life cycle of the software/product.

**Responsibilities:
- Participate effectively in relevant aspects of software development life cycle (SDLC) including backlog grooming, requirements development, sprint refinement and sprint planning, reprint retros and show-and-tell demos
- Develop and maintain test plans, specifications, test cases and test scripts
- Input all documented data conditions to execute test cases, process those tests, generate test results, and analyse results to ensure quality standards and the software meets/exceeds documented business requirements
- Submit potential deficiencies in the defect tracking system, basics of risk management
- Interface with product development, design, engineering and other functions to resolve possible product deficiencies to ensure entrance/entry criteria is met and conforms to design and business requirements
- Develop testing estimates and schedules, tracks and records testing progress and confidence levels
- Recommend new tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality

**Scope of Position**:

- Size of QA team - Approximately 3 to 5 QA engineers

- Engineering team
- Product team

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree

**Experience**:

- Scripting, Automation and Technical
- Selenium or similar experience (willing to learn Appium)
- Familiarity with Javascript (willing to learn Typescript)
- Basics of Bash scripting
- Must be able to write SQL and/or NoSQL CRUD queries
- People management / leadership experience
- Ability to set up and fine tune QA processes and align with the release cycle
- Ability to analyse code and scripts, possible white box testing
- Project management of Test Planning & Coordination
- Good experience writing functional test cases
- Experience with coordinating regression test with other teams and integration partners
- Develop test plans, specifications and write cases
- Experience with testing and analysing JSON, REST services
- Experience working on a Scrum team and work with tools such as Jira, Zephyr and Confluence
- Strong analytical skills
- Drive to achieve excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability
- Detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
