**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Shipping and Freight Management**:

- Negotiate competitive container rates and contracts with major shipping lines.
- Manage freight forwarding agreements to ensure cost-efficiency and reliability.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the movement of goods internationally.
- Monitor shipping schedules and ensure timely deliveries to clients and partners.
- **Cost Optimization and Budgeting**:

- Analyze and optimize transportation costs to achieve budget targets.
- Identify opportunities to reduce shipping costs without compromising quality or timelines.
- Track freight market trends to ensure competitive pricing.
- **Vendor and Relationship Management**:

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, port authorities, and logistics service providers.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and service-level agreements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for logistics-related queries and escalations.
- **Operations and Compliance**:

- Ensure all shipments comply with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and environmental standards.
- Monitor container tracking and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve logistics efficiency and minimize risks.
- **Team Collaboration and Reporting**:

- Work closely with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare regular reports on shipping costs, delivery performance, and key metrics.
- Provide input on logistics trends and innovations to enhance operations.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**:Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- **Experience**:Minimum 5-7 years of experience in logistics, with specific expertise in container rate negotiations and shipping line management.
- Strong knowledge of the pulp and paper industry and global trade practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., SAP, ERP systems, and container tracking platforms).
- Familiarity with Incoterms and international shipping regulations.
- Proven ability to analyze data, forecast trends, and make strategic decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
