As a Bartender, you are responsible for assisting with bar operations, ensuring that customers receive the best service possible, upholding a constant level of staff productivity, manage other bartender, training and development of junior staff, ensuring that the bar's budget is not exceeded and maintaining health and safety standards within the bar.
- Greeting guests, taking beverage orders from either directly from customers or from restaurant servers and serve drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail.
- Mixing drinks, cocktails and beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standards.
- Preparing and serving appetisers, snacks, or other food items for customers at the bar or where appropriate.
- Assessing customer preferences and making drink recommendations
- Satisfying patron requests in a timely manner
- Providing a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.
- Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers.
- Planning bar menus
- Creating unique drinks
- Balancing cash receipts
- Keeping a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of beverages and other accessories to serve guests.
- Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with necessary products, tools and equipment.
- Prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
- Organising the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Maintain safety, cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas of the bar including bar counters, tables, chairs, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
- Complying with all food and beverage regulations
- Keep immediate Supervisor promptly notified on all issues related to bar such as, equipment problems, bar maintenance issues or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative course of action.
- Limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behaviour
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Maintain a favourable working relationship with all employees.
- Ad-hoc duties as and when assigned by Supervisor.
