**Job Summary**:The Logistics Director is a senior management position responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire logistics and supply chain function within an organization. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and execution to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, materials, and information throughout the supply chain.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Planning**:Develop and implement a comprehensive logistics strategy aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure logístical strategies support overall business initiatives.
- **Team Leadership**:Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals, including logistics managers, coordinators, and specialists.
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to enhance the team's performance.
- **Supply Chain Optimization**:Analyze and optimize the end-to-end supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
- **Vendor and Partner Management**:Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other partners.
Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective and reliable logistics services.
- **Budget Management**:Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Monitor and control expenses related to transportation, warehousing, and other logistics activities.
- **Risk Management**:Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Implement contingency plans to address disruptions in logistics operations.
- **Technology Integration**:Stay abreast of technological advancements in logistics and supply chain management.
Implement and leverage technology solutions to enhance logistics processes and visibility.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:Ensure compliance with local and international regulations governing logistics and transportation.
Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- **Performance Metrics**:Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of logistics operations.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize coordination between logistics and other departments.
Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders on logistics performance and initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a proven track record of leadership.
- Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, technology, and industry trends.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
