Job summary

Amazon Cabling Infrastructure & Technologies (CIT) team is a subset of Strategic IP Services (SIPs). The primary remit of CIT is to design and implement enterprise Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure to support typical Amazon corporate offices, while at the same time having flexibility to accommodate unique Amazon subsidiary (e.g., Amazon Studios, Twitch, Amazon Robotics, etc.) requirements as necessary. CIT also drives global ICT design and engineering initiatives, as well as ICT continuous improvement projects.

As an ICT Build Quality Assurance Coordinator within CIT, you will have oversight of Amazon’s global corporate ICT infrastructure during the execution phase of a corporate office build. The role will be responsible for traveling to project sites to assure that Amazon’s Low Voltage Contractors (LVC) have completed all projects tasks in line with the statement of work (SOW). This includes, but is not limited to validating that MDF/IDF network infrastructure (i.e. routers, switches, servers, PDU’s & UPS) and ancillaries (i.e. racks & patch panels) are installed, labeled, and patched in accordance with contract documents (i.e. TSOW, T-series drawings & patch schedules). Furthermore, you will own review/archiving of LVC weekly status reports, change orders, risk/issue tracking, and project deliverables, such as test results, and as-builts to name a few.

As a member of this global team, you will engage with key stakeholders across various disciplines. You will work with multiple stakeholder teams to ensure the ICT infrastructure is fit for purpose, and ready for commencement of network device commissioning activities. The role will also require engagement with third party ICT design consultants, and management of Low Voltage Contractors (LVC).

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder teams to facilitate deployment of ICT infrastructure to include telecom spaces (i.e. MPOE, MDF, IDF), pathways, horizontal/backbone cabling, OSP cabling, racks, and network equipment.
- Attend project meetings as necessary to review progress and track MDF & IDF room ready.
- Review LVC weekly status reports.
- Review ICT design consultant onsite observation (OSO) and QA reports during the execution phase of projects.
- Conduct site visits at various stages of the execution phase to review LVC quality, adherence to ICT specifications, as well as to identify opportunities to version existing design and subsequent product selection.
- Audit and inspect the network hardware installation & room ready standards for compliance, verify defects and generate punch lists.
- Report and generate corrective action/remediation plans.
- Review LVC Risk & Issue logs.
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly, effectively action and close all customer complaints and defects.
- Timely and concise communication (both written/verbally) with key stakeholders.
- Update internal reporting tools to communicate progress to key stakeholders.
- Develop, track, and report project metrics as necessary.
- Encourage continuous improvement by conducting and documenting LVC performance reviews, identifying root cause trends and submitting Lessons Learned to mitigate future recurrence.
- Support new Product Introduction activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
- Track and review post project documentation (i.e. test results, As installed drawings, Warranty) to achieve project closure.
- Travel 75+% to review in flight projects, and attend Amazon business meetings as necessary.
- Participate in vendor Quarterly Business Reviews
