**SBD MBA Summer Associate - Summer 2025**
The D. E. Shaw group seeks talented individuals who are currently pursuing an MBA to join our strategy and business development (SBD) group as interns in our Hong Kong or Singapore offices. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a collegial and inclusive team on challenging, innovative projects that are core to the firm’s development. This is a ten-week program that is expected to run from June to August 2025.
**What you'll do day-to-day**
You’ll help evaluate complex business questions that drive the firm’s long-term direction and growth opportunities. You’ll work to solve these problems by performing research and conducting rigorous analysis using both quantitative and qualitative methods. You might assess which markets our trading strategies should expand into, examine how and why certain investment trends emerge in Asia, or research where to open a new office. Your recommendations will impact the way we run our business, with mentorship and skill-building resources along the way.
**Who we're looking for**
We seek individuals who excel at managing multiple projects, are effective communicators, and take a highly analytical approach to solving problems. Critical thinkers who can quickly identify areas of focus for the firm and successfully drive work forward will thrive in this role.
Applicants who take initiative, work well as part of a team, and demonstrate a client-focused approach with both external and internal stakeholders are highly sought after.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin or other local languages is a plus.
