**What the role is**
- The jobholder plays a key role in to mentor and direct a group of scientists to conduct scientific verification in a CBRNE operation environment. Manage a CBRNE lab to support stakeholders’ request in S&T development/capabilities; as well as in conducting analyses with well-established standard operating procedures, with the objective of producing high quality results for the stakeholders within corporate and safety guidelines.

**What you will be working on**
- Manage lab resources to ensure smooth running of Lab operations.
- Manage a team of scientists.
- Mentor, supervise and deepen staff technical competency.
- Identify area for lab capability enhancement and/or expand lab capabilities.
- Lead and oversee expansion and maintain scope of lab ISO17025 accreditation.
- Forecast, plan lab resources and report monthly lab operating budget.
- Manage and ensure 24/7 operational readiness of the lab
- Prepare monthly lab report to Deputy Director.
- Coordinate and engage CBRNE internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration.
- Supervise daily lab operations and Lab testing
- Review safety documents and ensure that staff adheres to workplace safety and health procedures
- Monitor progress of project and study
- Provide strategic and technical guidance for research project
- Respond to operational needs outside office hours, as and when required.
- Work with other Lab heads and Deputy Director in planning of resources and upkeep a network of CBRNE Lab

**What we are looking for**
- Applicants shall preferably mínimally have a Bachelor/ Master’s degree in chemistry/ microbiology/ biology/ Physics, preferably a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience supervising scientist and managing laboratory,
- Proficient in ISO17025 implementation, preferably has held appointment as quality or technical manager in the lab.
- Familiar with operating Tandem GCMS and LCMS, ICPMS or PCR and sequencing
- Demonstrate good track record of leading a strong scientific team.
- Possess good staff engagement skill.
- Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivated, high initiative, meticulous
- Possess strong critical thinking skills.
- Possess excellence written and verbal communication skills for pulling up Lab request or budget approval.
