This role is based in Singapore and as such all normal working days must be carried out in Singapore.

**Join us as a Desk Strategist**:

- You’ll analyse market related data, trends, and events
- Work with a global team, engage with clients from across the globe, and advance your career in this exciting, fast paced role
- You’ll ensure desk strategy activities are in line with policies covering conduct, operational, and regulatory risks

**What you'll do**:
As a Desk Strategist, you’ll be conducting analysis to enhance trading or sale opportunities for the business. You’ll be working closely with colleagues across the world to formulate views on China, the region, and the global economy.

Your role will also involve:

- Tracking and commenting on macroeconomic data releases, financial market data and parsing political developments
- With a focus on China, analysing economic and financial data with the intent to identify the impact on markets and the global economy, and to generate potential trade ideas
- Provide insight and analysis for the franchise’s clients and stakeholders, both internally and externally, and potentially engage the media as well
- Building and maintaining products, forecast packs, data previews and reviews, and thematic reports
- Collaborating with team members globally on sales and trading requests and projects of market or economic relevance
- Leading learning and development on your team

**The skills you'll need**:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a strong academic background and at least three to six years’ experience in economic research or market strategy.

You’ll also need:

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with global stakeholders
- Strong Excel skills and an analytical mind-set
- Working knowledge of economic and financial market databases such as Bloomberg and Haver
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in Mandarin, as you will be expected to engage with Chinese source materials
