The Operations team partners closely with ResMed’s five business leaders to understand their needs then providing a variety of products and services to help them meet those needs including Customer and Technical Services, Global Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, manufacturing, logistics and distribution. Focused on enabling new product introduction and operating excellence, our team strives to improve time to market for new products and services, improve efficiencies in our cross-functional processes, and improve our supply chain through digitization and automation to increase value add to our customers.

The objective of the Global Supplier Alliance (GSA) team is to provide supply solutions to achieve ResMed’s business strategy and financial goals.
The Category team will achieve the strategy by creating plans that provide guidance to the business whilst developing a robust supply network that delivers values to the business. The Category Manager provides leadership for designated spend categories through negotiation strategies, strategic sourcing and procurement practices, supplier relationship management, spend performance management, internal spend and external market trend analysis and risk assessments, and category governance.
Collaborates with key stakeholders on the development and implementation of annual and multi-year category strategies in order to achieve business goals and deliver sustainable category value. This position has significant financial and enterprise risk mitigation responsibilities.

This is a 12 months contract role
- Develop and implement Category Management plans in alignment with ResMed’s operational and strategic business goals including future product and supply chain needs.
- Demonstrate effective supplier relationship and business review practices to drive innovation, deliver sustainable cost & value, create competitive advantage and manage business and compliance risks to enhance ResMed business and avoid supply disruption.
- Develop a forward looking, strategically relevant and robust supply network to increase value and innovation.
- Create competitive advantage for ResMed through supplier partnerships deep into the supply chain.
- Identify and develop supply opportunities, current and emerging technologies and industry trends and landscapes to future proof supply needs and category strategies.
- Manage business compliance and supply risks to enhance ResMed’s operation and prevent supply disruption
- Develop systems, business processes and team capability that provide scale and efficiency
- Effectively partner with senior business leaders across ResMed and its supply partners to maximize value from supplier base and category strategies
- Effectively partner and collaborate across Global Supplier Alliance and the wider ResMed business to maximize value from Supplier base, develop and implement Category Strategies and support the team with delivery of sourcing strategies for Product Development projects.
- Effective communicate with guidance to internal stakeholders on developed selection criteria and drives the selection and approval process of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including business continuity management or risk assessments/mitigations.
- Develop and implement supplier management program with key suppliers and internal stakeholders through regular structured Business Reviews including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives.
- Handle projects as assigned.
Let’s talk about you:
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Science or related Business discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a category management or strategic procurement role
- A strong track record of cross functional stakeholder management in a technology driven product development or manufacturing environment
- In depth knowledge in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing process and Managing Integrated Technology partners.
- In depth knowledge & understanding of ResMed business, category market and environment
- Category Analysis and reporting
- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic partner relationships
- Oracle business information system, Objective document management system, Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook/IE
- The ability to engage and influence vertically and horizontally with stakeholders across ResMed is crucial in ensuring category management strategies are adopted and meet business needs
- basic knowledge of technical elements in order to effectively engage with stakeholders and facilitate optimal supplier and project outcomes
