The Centre for Ageing Research and Education (CARE) is an academic research centre based in Duke-NUS Medical School. It aims to harness the potentials of population ageing geriatric medicine both in Singapore and the region through its interdisciplinary expertise and collaborations across medical, social, psychological, economics and environmental perspectives.
In collaboration with ETH Zurich, the Singapore ETH Centre and the Singapore Eye Research Institute, Duke-NUS Medical School is a partner in the 5-year “Future Health Technologies” research programme supported by the National Research Foundation, Singapore. Within this, CARE will coordinate a research project that aims to develop novel, scalable, digital solutions for screening and assessing cognitive decline, risk of falling, and subsequent risk of fracture among older adults in Singapore. The project will involve conducting community-based and home-based surveys as well as clinic-based assessments of a representative sample of older adults coupled with a longitudinal follow-up of the surveyed older adults.
- Undertake quantitative research for the “Future Health Technologies” research programme.
- Lead academic papers and presentations, and collaborate with an international team of researchers.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.
**Job Requirements**:
- PhD in Gerontology, Sociology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Economics or other disciplines, with experience in health research.
- Research / clinical training or prior experience in the area of falls among older adults (such as epidemiology of falls, interventions to prevent falls) will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated skills and expertise in quantitative analysis.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A team player with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
