Web Gis Software Engineer

Nika.eco is looking for a to join their Singapore-based tech startup

**Disclaimer**

This is not a GIS Developer role but more of a Software Engineer role, so GIS skills like ArcGIS and QGIS analytics are not needed in this role and majority of the time will be spent on building software.

You'll be immersed in the daily operations of the company. This hands-on opportunity will involve working with a large amount of user data, sales pipeline and content generation. Your work will improve the public view of Nika.eco as the leading nature tech startup in Singapore, also known as the climate finance hub of Asia. This foundation will then empower the research and development (R&D) team of Nika.eco to offer more efficient models for carbon biomass estimation, forest change extents, biodiversity impacts and carbon footprint etc that serve as compulsory spatial data analytics in nature projects.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop frontend and backend web app features in Typescript/Python/SQL
- Write unit/integration/system tests
- Familiarity with Cloud Services
- Architectural design for efficient Python workload to run with xarray, rasterio etc
- Integrate various spatial data sources: H3, geoparquet, zarr, COG etc.
- Manage on-prem deployment

**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate and above
- Eligible to work in Singapore (Singaporeans/PRs)
- Experienced in web development and backend frameworks
- [Bonus] Knowledge of web GIS frameworks such as Maplibre GL JS
