**Responsibilities**:
- Perform live percussion accompaniment during Cantonese opera performances.
- Coordinate with other musicians and performers to enhance the overall musical experience.
- Maintain the integrity of traditional Cantonese opera music through precise and authentic percussion techniques.
- Rehearse regularly to ensure mastery of musical cues and timing.
- Collaborate with directors and performers to achieve the desired artistic expression in each performance.
- Adapt percussion accompaniment according to the requirements of different Cantonese opera productions.
**Requirements**:
- Proficiency in playing traditional percussion instruments including gong, cymbals, bells, and drums.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Cantonese opera music and performance traditions.
- Prior experience as a percussionist in Cantonese opera productions is preferred.
- Strong musical ear and ability to improvise and adapt percussion accompaniment as necessary.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other musicians and performers.
- Dedication to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Cantonese opera through music.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel for performances and rehearsals.
- Passion for the performing arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality musical performances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in music performance or related field.
- Extensive experience as a percussionist in Cantonese opera productions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple percussion instruments commonly used in Cantonese opera.
- Familiarity with other aspects of Cantonese opera production such as stagecraft, costume design, or singing is a plus.
