**About Lumen**

**The Role**:
The Senior Operations engineer is part of Lumen’s **Adaptive Support** team who provide dedicated support across Network and Compute to a subset of Lumen’s premium customers. As **Senior Engineer**, you are responsible for providing tier 2-3 technical support for Lumen’s Adaptive customer compute solutions. You will act as an escalation point for the team across technical issues, repeat issues, knowledge transfer, documentation, and drive automation.

**Working Pattern: (Tue-Sat / Sun-Thu or Sat-Wed) 40 Hour working week between hours of 7am
- 7pm.**

**The Main Responsibilities**:
**Minimum Qualifications**
- 4+ years’ experience supporting Windows/Vmware/Linux and operating in a 24/7 environment.
- Able to Provide 2nd-3rd level systems support.
- Strong Knowledge & troubleshooting skills on Windows 2008, 2012, 2016 & 2019 Server.
- Strong Knowledge & troubleshooting skills on MS Clusters.
- Strong Knowledge & troubleshooting skills on VMware technologies; High-Availability, VMware Vmotion, DRS, ESX and vCenter.
- Strong Knowledge & Troubleshooting skills on RHEL/Linux Operating Systems.
- Good knowledge and understanding of networking protocols.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of key Topics:

- Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, DNS, Failover Clustering, DHCP, Domain Controllers, High availability, DRS, ESX Vmotion,
- Confident and Professional dealing directly with customers.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and give direction to others as well as taking direction from management.
- Experience of mentoring and training staff in best practices.
- Resourceful and proactive in gathering information, making a decision and taking action.
- Bachelor Degree in Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science
- Good knowledge and proven experience supporting Windows/Linux/VMware environments in a fast paced, 24/7 operations team.

**Highly Desirable**
- VMware/vSphere 6.x
- RHEL/ Linux 6.x/7.x
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2 / 2016 / 2019
- Experience with Scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell.
- ITIL v4
