**Responsibilities**:
Legal Review
- Review credit Facility Agreements, NDAs and other legal agreements against the bank’s internal framework/requirements
- Escalate to/consult with management on deviations from the framework/requirements
- Put in place safeguards and deviations handling process to ensure the bank only agrees to obligations that it can comply with
- Actively communicate with RMs and credit analysts to understand core requirements of the deal, and liaise with appointed 3rd party legal firm and consult with internal legal department
Risk & Compliance
- Support BCO, in a sub-BCO position to design, implement and monitor the compliance of the Front Office department staff against Global Head Office guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Actively communicate and design learning sessions to ensure all staff remain fully aware and vigilante of their responsibilities, especially the SFA/FAA registered team
- From time-to-time support with other legal and compliance needs of the team e.g., reporting of team KPI and status to Planning teams etc.
- Remain vigilante and mindful to changing regulations, policies and market conditions to ensure the impact to the department is properly studied, assessed and then implemented.
Team Work & Support
- Proactively innovate and improve the current way of doing business
- Take prompt and decisive action to address the needs of all stakeholders in the journey to ultimately support the team’s needs in terms of legal and compliance
- Represent GFIG department in all associated L&C meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Job Requirements
- A Bachelors degree in accounting, banking & finance or equivalent in the similar field
- Advance banking Certifications in Compliance & Risk areas are desirable
- At least 7-8 years of relevant experience in legal department of a bank or 10+ years of Corporate Banking experience.
- Demosrates good exposure and knowledge of lending and loan documentation
- Working knowledge of document risk analysis and negotiation
- Professional knowledge of FIG business in a country or region is advantageous.
