As an **Engineering Assistant**, you’ll play a key role in expanding the capacity of our **Prototyping Solutions Team**, enabling the delivery of next-generation products for our Sleep and Health business. You’ll be part of a team that’s integral to ResMed’s growth, driving engineering excellence and innovation in medical device development.

**Let’s**Talk About the Role**:

- Operate and maintain **3D printers**, rapid prototyping machines, and other workshop tools to support prototype development.
- Perform hands-on prototyping tasks such as cutting, gluing, painting, and assembling parts for product development engineers.
- Manage consumables inventory and assist with material procurement for the prototyping function.
- Support engineers with design reviews, quality assurance, and testing to ensure prototypes meet ResMed’s high standards.
- Work within a safe, **OH&S-compliant environment**, adhering to medical device development standards and ResMed’s quality systems.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and workflow efficiency.

- **Mechanically Inclined**:You have a diploma/degree in **Mechanical Engineering**or a trade background (e.g., fitter machinist, maintenance fitter) with experience in precision work or medical devices (a plus).
- **Adaptable and Eager to Learn**:You’re excited by the steep learning curve in medical prototyping and thrive on challenges in a discovery-driven environment.
- **Team-Oriented Communicator**:You enjoy collaborating with engineers and can communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
- **Detail-Oriented and Organized**:You have a keen eye for detail and the organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

- Minimum **1 year of experience**in a related field (e.g., workshop operations, prototyping, or precision assembly) preferred.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and workshop machinery.
- Familiarity with **medical device manufacturing**or precision engineering is a bonus.
