What You'll Do
Payroll processing
Process JAPAC regional monthly / ad-hoc payrolls, including equity transactions through a third-party vendor, in an outsourced arrangement, on timely and a high degree of accuracy. Regions include Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Thailand, and India, with the potential for geographic expansion.
Ensure payroll is processed according to company policy and country-specific global and local statutory requirements with high quality, professional and timely manner.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, Treasury, and statutory tax reporting requests with high quality, professional and timely responses.
Provide day-to-day operational support and answer to employee queries within SLA by business.
Maintain proper payroll documentation for each process step.
Prepare and review schedules to support internal and external audit requirements.
Ensure all processes align are fully met in line with company guidelines and support Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls.
Work closely with internal parties including HR, Treasury, and statutory tax reporting requests including equity transaction with high quality, professional and timely responses.
Payroll accounting & reporting
Work closely with an external outsourced vendor, reviewing monthly payroll journals and ensuring payroll-related reconciliations are performed correctly and timely.
Business Improvement & Alignment
Ensure a thorough understanding of broader Payroll strategies.
Review, follow, and contribute to payroll team objectives.
Provide innovative ideas, solutions, and tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing.
Support the development, reporting, and review of metrics to drive performance, identify trends, and implement process improvements, raising issues and proposing solutions as appropriate.
Assist the supervisor/manager with capturing and responding to issues, policies, and procedures from government agencies, payroll functions, and operating companies.
Teamwork and Individual Development
Maintain regular communication with the supervisor/manager, team members, and relevant customers regarding task or project status and opportunities to improve service levels or processes. Raise any concerns to ensure the delivery of quality service.
Participate in and support departmental initiatives.
Seek feedback, continuously learn, and take advantage of opportunities to improve knowledge, skill, and experience. Monitor results to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Adhere to company, department, and team standards of professionalism and protocol. Ensure behavior aligns with the Adobe credo and supports a positive work environment.
Team backup support
Provide backup support to assigned countries. Be familiar with the process and ready to process payroll as needed.
Additional Task
Perform any additional task assigned by the manager on any payroll-related project and issues.
May be required to travel across JAPAC.
What You'll Need To Succeed
Generally requires 5-7 years of Payroll or Finance related experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
Previous experience in Payroll required, preferably for a large multinational company. Experience in a shared service center environment is preferred.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Payroll processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Significant analytical and problem-solving skills required. Attention to detail is a must.
A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance-related matters.
Proficient interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully work with collaborators and colleagues to contribute ideas, find opportunities, and contribute to positive outcomes. Multilingual proficiency in Asian languages is a plus.
Ability to excel in a team-based environment, demonstrating customer service and teamwork. Experience working through conflict to reach a successful resolution.
