**Job Description**:
The Database Team is responsible for managing Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AWS DocumentDB in MUFG. The tasks include day-to-day DBA duties such as install/upgrade, security, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and troubleshooting. The DBA will also be delegated to different projects where require database design/support.

This is an intermediate/senior level Oracle DBA role. He/She will be responsible for ensuring the databases are running in a healthy state, such as daily monitoring (e.g., database backups are successful as this is critical for the MUFG business).

This individual will work with other DBA members as a team and will be the primary support for Oracle and secondary support for PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

This individual will participate in the AWS migration projects and daily operation support for both AWS and on-prem environments.
- Primary support for Oracle databases, and Secondary support for PostgreSQL and SQL Server on-premises and AWS
- Install and patch database software and maintain the databases in optimal performance state.
- Proactively monitor and manage all database environments, ensuring business users can run the systems efficiently and protected from failure (e.g., Make sure Backup and storage are always in good state).
- Gatekeeper of all databases ensuring all database changes follow the MUFG change management procedures and the security policies of MUFG.
- Create well organized documents and standards so that DBA team members can use the same standard to manage the database environments effectively.
- Able to create a performance & tuning strategy to resolve performance issues in a timely manner.
- Work with the Security team to make sure the database environments fulfil the Internal/External Audit requirement.
- Flexibility to support the operations of our businesses and able to take on-call rotation.
- Eager to learn and keep up with new technologies in both AWS (e.g., Oracle & PostgreSQL RDS) and native database (e.g., SQL Server on EC2).

**Qualifications**:

- 5 years working with Oracle databases.
- 2 years working with PostgreSQL.
- 2 years working with SQL Server
- AWS experience is a bonus.

Additional Information
**Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge Requirements**
- Experience in managing Oracle databases in RAC environment.
- Hands-on experience in backup & restore, database refresh, performance & tuning.
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in production environments.
- Good understanding of Oracle Data Guard.
- Good understanding in High Availability and Disaster Recovery
- Knowledge in AWS, Network, Storage, Backup and Virtualization is a plus.
