**What the role is**
- You develop MINDEF/SAF’s Strategic Communications (SC) policy, strategies, and plans to deepen understanding and safeguard public commitment to defence, build trust and confidence in MINDEF/SAF, enhance our international standing, and maintain support for National Service.
**What you will be working on**
- You are responsible for developing the broad themes and key messages to guide MINDEF/SAF’s SC efforts in public and internal communications, and community engagement. On this, you work closely with and understand considerations of MINDEF/SAF departments and other ministries, as well as the interests of key audiences and stakeholders, to ensure that policies and plans achieve desired outcomes. Your challenge lies in being able to think critically and innovatively to understand and sense-make public sentiments and the information space to strategise, plan and make clear recommendations to meet the desired objectives.
**What we are looking for**
- You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Mass Communication, Information Studies, Law, Engineering, Science or Social Sciences, with a strong interest in communications. You must have a keen appreciation of the changing information environment, emerging social trends, as well as prevailing public sentiments. You must also be analytical, possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills and a good command of spoken and written English. Having prior experience in a communications-related role, and/or possession of a Masters qualification in a relevant domain, will be advantageous. Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
