We are looking to hire a Public Affairs Manager to build and lead our regional public affairs function. This strategic new role will support our next phase of growth by protecting, maintaining, and enhancing Ninja Van’s reputation amongst external stakeholders in government, international organisations, academia, non-profit and private sectors, acting as a regular interface and communicator for the Ninja Van.
- The role will report to the Regional Head of Corporate Communications.
- An informed, insightful, influential public affairs function won’t just increase the chances of governments making regulatory changes that work in Ninja Van’s favour, it can also form a key part of our external communications strategy. Having influential stakeholders speak on our behalf can position us as an expert and advocate. Also, depending on the issues being discussed, this can also boost the public perception of our business.
- Engaging and influencing regulatory and legislative agendas, gathering intelligence and reporting on developments in key selected markets
- Developing and launching policy initiatives and campaigns that advance Ninja Van’s policy goals
- Directly engaging with senior policymakers and regulators to educate them about Ninja Van’s business model, vision of the digital economy and the future of supply chain/logistics
- Helping colleagues across Ninja Van understand potential policy developments and identify policy opportunities to grow our business

**Responsibilities**:

- Define, develop and implement Ninja Van’s regional public affairs strategy
- Engage and represent Ninja Van amongst external stakeholders in government, international organisations, academia, non-profit and private sectors
- Advises on communications implications for the organization’s plans and actions to ensure government opinion and other factors which could affect the organization are taken into account.
- Work across different functions with internal teams( CEO office, local country heads + relevant management team members, Reg Legal Counsel team) to implement creative and practical solutions faced by local communities in markets.
- Monitor changes in the policy landscape and evaluate their potential impact on Ninja Van operations.
- Help create content that articulates Ninja Van’s policy positions in briefing papers, government consultations, and with relevant stakeholders.
- Engage and build a broad spectrum of public partnerships that support Ninja Van’s public policy goals.

**Requirements**:

- Minimally a Bachelors Degree with 5 years of relevant working experience in the government, policy making and/or political space. This may be in government, unions, private companies, management consulting, research institutions or other organizations
- Strong knowledge of policy issues that relate to logistics and technology such as labour, environmental and tax regulations, with the ability to identify broader social and business implications in issues
- Demonstrated experience working regionally/internationally with senior government executives and government stakeholders
- Experience in successfully delivering initiatives in any of the 6 following markets would be advantageous; Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines.
- Ability to integrate business strategy with public policy
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a complex, fast moving organisation without explicit authority
- Must have a strong self-starter and proactive attitude, with the ability to work through constraints and deliver high-quality results
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders of all levels
- Proficiency in English is essential, additional ASEAN language capabilities is a plus
