Research Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
- With the guidance from senior lab members, adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental procedures to actively facilitate the research of students, research associates, and postdocs (e.g.: plasmid extraction and documentation, gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9), plasmid construction, and stable cell line generation, etc);
- Purchase, receive, organize, and document reagents, consumables, labware, and equipment for the lab;
- Update lab expenses to the line manager on a monthly and annual basis;
- Organize and document experimental protocols and draft/ amend administrative paperwork such as standard operating procedure (SOPs) and risk assessment with the help from the line manager and senior lab members;
- Take the responsibility as the lab's safety representative in participating the school's safety meeting, preparing the lab for safety audits, and training new lab members on safety knowledge;
- Act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, medicine, or related disciplines
- Demonstrable interest or experience in cancer biology
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Adept in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
