Graduate Quantitative Trader

As our Graduate Quantitative Trader, you'll start the first 4 weeks of your training program, in our global HQ in Amsterdam, where you'll learn the foundations of everything that you'll need to know - the theory, the markets, the strategies and the technology. After that, you'll put your knowledge into practice and start trading in our simulated trading environment, which is a live copy of the financial market

Once complete, you'll join our team of experienced traders and begin trading in the real market - with the opportunity to either work in one of our global offices or to return to Singapore and join our local team.

**What you'll do**

From your first day on the trading floor, you'll have autonomy and responsibility to make decisions that create an immediate impact. Every day will present you with new and interesting challenges to solve. And it's up to you and your team to drive our success through Optiver's market leading technology-stack. You'll be:

- Trading, while constantly looking for creative quantitative solutions to real world events ahead of the competition.
- Developing robust pricing models and algorithms to offer the best price on the products you trade.
- Building tools, conducting analysis and leading projects that take your team's trading strategies to the next level.
- Working collectively with our best-in-class team of traders, technologists and researchers, to help Optiver remain at the forefront of the industry.

***Who you are**

**While our traders all share a passion for creative quantitative problem solving, they work in three main areas with different focuses. After the training program, you can select the role that appeals to you the most, and we will work together with you in the recruitment process to ensure that the area is most suitable for you.**
- **Options Market Maker**

As an Options Trader, during market hours, you will be constantly making quick, yet sharp, logical trading decisions based on a multitude of factors. You love puzzles, predictions with strong logic and problem-solving abilities. And you're always hungry to learn. You're driven to understand the why, but you're also comfortable making decisions under uncertainty. You have a real passion for quantitative problems and a flair for numbers. Outside of market hours, you will work on projects that will further your team's trading strategies.

- **Wholesale Trader**

As a Wholesale trader, you will be making quick trading decisions as well as communicating and working closely with third parties. Building rapport comes naturally to you, and you enjoy developing strong relationships with your colleagues and entities outside of Optiver. You have amazing communication skills and can remain focused under pressure. You're passionate about quantitative problems and have a flair for numbers. You have an inherent drive to work in a fast paced, yet sometimes uncertain, environment.
