Job Description

As a Senior System/Automation Engineer, you will be primarily responsible to Lead and drive labor efficiency improvement in assigned cluster of processes through automation solutions. We collaborate closely with respective process, equipment and new product owners to identify improvement opportunities, then design and implement solutions through external benchmarking and close partnership with automation vendor. In this role, we will lead in all stages of automation solution from idea generation, design, deployment to production release. In addition, through our knowledge and expertise, we will feedback automation design rules to new product introduction team (wherever applicable).

You will report to Indus Manager based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Site Manufacturing and Engineering team to identify gap and improvement opportunities.
- You will Analyze process flow, product movement, equipment layout, operator assignment to identify labor efficiency wastes
- Prepare and setup brainstorming sessions multi-functional teams to generate ideas for improvement opportunities
- Evaluate improvement ideas based on return on investment, quality and safety/ergonomics improvement
- Propose improvement ideas to management for approval
- Design automation solutions through external benchmarking and partnership with automation vendors
- You will Perform research and survey on industrial best automation practices
- Select supplier to implement improvement ideas using decision making analysis tool
- Partner supplier to design solutions to meet improvement objectives
- Plan overall project within scope, budget and timeline.
- Lead implementation of automation solutions until production release
- Acts as key interface to automation vendor throughout project management lifecycle
- Continue to collaborate with key partners such as process & equipment owners, manufacturing to ensure improvement objectives are met
- Setup regular meeting with multi-functional team to ensure successful production ramp.

Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or automation-related fields.
- Project management experience preferably relevant to automation equipment related fields.
- 8 years of working experience as an Engineer in Industrial Automation Industry or manufacturing environment with Automation background.
- Strong problem-solving knowledge with recognized systematic approach.
- Good organizational skills and ability to follow assignments through to completion and meet timelines with commitment to task and attention to details.
- Demonstrate Independent, teamwork and hands-on attitude with safety and quality mentality.
- Demonstrated understanding of New Product Introduction process.
- Experience with Project Management / Agile / SAFe, Design For Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
- Experience in designing automation, defining requirements, identify CTQ, handling of robotics/machine learning, etc in field of Final Assembly.
