**Key Responsibilities** - Responsible for L3’s research on growing microbial protein sources - Play an active role in initiating and managing new research projects with external collaborators - Manage the indoor R&D facility to ensure operations run smoothly - Perform and monitor research projects and experiments in the indoor R&D growing room - Responsible for building, operate and managing the microalgae cultivation farm - Cover the responsibilities of the Head of R&D in his absence - May be required to travel to countries of external collaborators and other L3 offices - Ensure smooth communication and flow of info within R&D department as well as to other L3 departments or offices **Requirements**: **Academic Qualification** - Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology or related fields (experience in cultivation of microorganisms) **Work Experience** - R&D Scientist: Bachelor 10 years, Master 8 years, PhD 1-2 years - Senior R&D Scientist: PhD >2 years (dependent on experience) - Experience in cultivation of microalgae would be a bonus - Experience in managing research projects (designing/planning & performing experiments in lab, analyzing/interpreting results and data) independently **Competencies & Personal Qualities** - Proficiency in speaking and writing in English; able to speak and write in Chinese will have added advantage - Good communication and project management skills (liaising with suppliers and managing the purchases; communication with external collaborators managing the projects with them) - Open-minded and having a resilient attitude towards overcoming challenges and problems - Willing to work in a dynamic environment to drive breakthroughs and achieve new milestones **Salary**: $4,500.00 - $6,500.00 per month **Benefits**: - Flexible schedule Schedule: - Monday to Friday Application Question(s): - How do you picture yourself working in a startup? **Education**: - Master's (preferred) Work Location: In person
