Position Summary

Plays an influential role as a key member of the Tuas 1 Site Leadership Team in driving a proactive Environment, Health and Safety EHS culture enabling Pfizer’s Purpose

The Environment Health & Safety (EHS) lead is responsible for establishing the strategic direction for the Tuas site EHS programs in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to:

- Build a strong EHS Team and grow and develop the Team.
- Ensure site programs fully comply with environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations, company policies and Global EHS standards. Regularly review and update site EHS programs.
- Establish and maintain EHS training programs.
- Establish mechanisms to ensure proactive EHS assessment of the impact of change.
- Oversee EHS operational duties including regulatory permitting and reporting.
- Set and deliver on EHS metrics and commitments (internal and external).
- Work in close partnership with all operations to proactively plan and execute EHS duties, requirements, risk mitigation, etc.
- Oversee EHS input into capital projects throughout the lifecycle, to ensure alignment with EHS strategic plans.
- Engage as an active member of the Tuas Leadership Team; partnering with peers to grow a proactive EHS culture aligned with Pfizer’s Values of Excellence, Courage, Equity and Joy; and actively participate in the Diversity and Inclusion priorities for the site
- Administer an effective Site Security Program.
- Deliver on the Tuas EHS budgets.
- Some ad hoc support of the Tuas 2 site also expected.

Position Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction for EHS at the site and build a culture of EHS excellence that supports continued supply of medicines for our patients
- Functions as member of the Site Leadership Team providing strategic direction and leadership for the site.
- Lead, direct and develop an EHS team in Singapore.
- Leads the EHS program at the site to:

- minimize impact of operations on the environment,
- assure the health, and safety, of company employees, contractors, and visitors
- and to assure effective incident response, including Emergency Preparedness & Response and Investigation
- Ensures implementation and maintenance of EHS management systems that meet contemporary external and Pfizer internal EHS standards and enhance and continuously improve the EHS program at the site. Establishes and maintains self-assessment systems that periodically evaluate the effectiveness of the site EHS management system
- Partners with the site leadership in establishing short and long term EHS objectives for the site, to ensure safety and minimization of environmental footprint. Establishes site EHS metrics, drives action plans and regularly publishes status updates.
- Collaboratively equips the site leadership team in establishing and maintaining an effective operating environment that facilitates EHS cultural growth with a goal to eliminate incidents and injuries.
- Integrates EHS risk assessment within business operations thereby assuring all initiatives at the site are conducted in a safe manner and in full compliance with OSHA, EPA and all other applicable regulating bodies
- Manages, executes, and is accountable for the site EHS budget
- Ensures all EHS functions, including Process Safety Management (PSM), Business Continuity Management (BCM), Security management, loss prevention systems and Environmental Compliance, are adequately resourced and managed to maintain compliance with all applicable Company policies and government regulations and to meet contemporary standards.
- Develops and enhances the EHS team through effective organizational design, selection, development, training, and performance management of all staff.
- Ensures delivery of in-sourced and outsourced EHS services at the site, including selection and management of properly licensed hazardous, biological and radioactive waste disposal firms
- Partners with Engineering to develop and drive Environmental Sustainability plans for the site with drive to achieve Net Zero.
- Ensures effective processes are established to ensure EHS review of capital projects; such that risk reduction controls are included within the design and project execution
- Develops relationships with above site stakeholders including Global Security, Global EHS, Business Continuity management, Global Occupational, Health & Wellness and EHS professionals within the Pfizer Community of Practice (COP), to ensure program alignment and leverage network resources
- Leads Crisis Management Team when events arise.
- Performs other duties inherent to the position including overseeing Site Security resources and programs.

Organizational Relationships
- Develop and implement communication channels and protocols to interact with local regulatory and government agencies (e.g. NEA, PSB, SCDF, PUB, etc.) to support onsite business activities inclusive a situation of emergency.
