**Responsibilities**:
The appointed Curatorial Research Assistant will assist the Curators in the successful research and development of exhibition projects and ad-hoc displays.

Research
- Conduct in-depth research for exhibitions on Singapore, on but not limited to the following areas:

- the history of leisure and recreation
- place-based social histories
- Institutional history of NLB
- Singapore Art History
- Singapore Literature

Exhibition Development
- Work closely with curators to conceptualise, research, and develop written content for exhibitions, including educational, marketing and public outreach materials, social media write-ups and child-friendly
- Assist in exhibition-related tasks, such as sourcing exhibition materials and securing copyright
- Support in community engagement as part of exhibition research and/or publicity efforts, including giving public

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in History or related social sciences
- Demonstrated interest in and sound understanding of Singapore history and heritage
- Strong and meticulous in historical research and writing, skilled in sourcing and analysing primary and secondary materials
- Collaborative and innovative, able to work well in a team as well as independently
- Good interpersonal communication, able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Experience in exhibition, library & archives, or museum work and proficiency in other languages would be advantageous (e.g. Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Tamil)
